This qualification is for individuals with an interest in health who are also interested in helping others develop a healthier lifestyle by addressing the issue of alcohol misuse.
To achieve this qualification a candidate must:
- Understand factors that result in people misusing alcohol
- Understand the personal and social consequences of alcohol misuse
- Know how to provide help and support to the individual
This single unit qualification is a stand alone individual qualification, and can also be taken as one of the optional units as part of the Level 2 Award for Young Health Champions.
This qualification is on The Education and Skills Funding Agency list of qualifications approved for funding. This funding will be withdrawn with effect from 1 August 2021.
