This qualification is aimed at those working as part of the UK's wider public health workforce, defined as 'any individual who is not a specialist or practitioner in public health but has the opportunity or ability to positively impact health and wellbeing through their paid or unpaid work' (from RSPH and CFWI Understanding the Wider Public Health Workforce in England).

This includes individuals working in:

• Blue Light Services (Fire and Rescue Services, Police, Ambulance Services and Paramedics, Army Personnel)
• Communities (community development, housing and welfare, teaching and education, childcare, caring services, health and social care, health champions)
• Commercial (workplace and occupational health, health and safety, leisure, sport and fitness)
