In partnership with NHS England (NHSE) the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) has developed a free access Introduction to Violence Prevention and Reduction (VPR) eLearning course for all health and care staff. This eLearning introduces a public health approach to violence prevention.

 

Course overview

This course offers practical guidance on public health approaches to violence prevention and reduction. By the end of the course learners will:

  • Be aware of key policy and legislative drivers for violence prevention and reduction in healthcare settings.
  • Be aware of the individual, situational and environmental factors that can cause violence.
  • Know how using public health and trauma informed approaches can prevent violence at individual and community level.
  • Be aware of a range of best practice approaches that can be used by individuals, teams and organisations to minimise the risk or impact of violence.
