The Covid-19 pandemic exacerbated the stress involved in parenting infants. Parents lacked normal postnatal face-to-face professional and social support due to social distancing restrictions, presenting a barrier to meeting families’ needs. Lambeth Early Action Partnership (LEAP) partially filled this gap by providing a postnatal meals service to families with new babies in Lambeth, London.

An innovative and community-based intervention that supported the health and support needs of families with babies and young children in Lambeth during COVID-19. There is strong engagement from the community and the evidence suggest that it promoted local collaborations and partnerships which included local business, volunteers and the families who benefited
