Nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) infection is one of the most serious waterborne infectious diseases, posing a serious concern to human health.

Despite improvement in identification techniques and emergence of infection prevention and control programs, nontuberculous mycobacteria remain present in hospital water systems, causing outbreaks in healthcare settings. This webinar will review recent increasing trends in NTM infections and outbreaks and help identify lessons learnt. Our speaker Dr Susanne Surman-Lee will discuss the patient groups at increased risk, NTM species of clinical concern and how we can keep patients safe in the healthcare environment.
