RSPH is pleased to announce that its Accreditation Logo can now be seen on the television advertising, labels and promotional materials for Procter and Gamble’s new Ariel Stain Remover Hygiene powder. This is a sign that the hygiene claims made for the product have been scrutinised by an independent panel of experts and confirmed as being valid.

We are all aware of the energy saving, and environmental benefit, of washing clothes at low temperatures. However, we may sometimes be concerned about the hygiene consequences of washing laundry at temperatures as low as 30 degrees C. New Ariel Stain Remover Hygiene powder not only helps to remove stains, but also provides effective antibacterial action at low temperatures upon pre-soaking clothes for one hour.

Professor Richard Parish, Chief Executive of the RSPH commented: “Not all bacteria are harmful, but there are times when we may need to take extra care to wash contaminated items of clothes properly to minimise the potential spread of disease. The RSPH is pleased to be able to accredit a product which can help to improve laundry hygiene and which also supports practices which have an environmental benefit”.
