FREE Members' Event - Tour of the 'Skin' Exhibition at the Wellcome Collection
8 September 2010
Tab 1: Event Information
The Wellcome Collection website describes the exhibition as an invitation ‘to re-evaluate the largest and probably most overlooked human organ’ and to ‘consider the changing importance of skin, from anatomical thought in the 16th century through to contemporary artistic exploration’. The exhibition will examine early anatomical thinking that the skin was of little value and the idea of skin as a ‘living document’, detailed with wrinkles, scars or tattoos.
